How much does TV mounting cost?
TV mounting from Mounted and More starts at $150 for Mount and Go, $200 for Basic Mounting and $325 for Advanced Mounting. These are starting prices, not final quotes. A bigger TV, a log, stone or brick wall, a fireplace mount or in-wall wiring can raise the total.
See what each package includes on our pricing page, or read the TV mounting cost guide for worked examples.
What does TV mounting include?
TV mounting includes picking the right mount, finding solid backing in the wall and hanging the TV level and secure. Basic and Advanced Mounting add wire management, remote programming and device setup, so the TV works the day it goes up.
Which TV mount should I choose?
The right mount depends on where you sit and how you use the room.
- Fixed mount: holds the TV flat and low-profile.
- Tilting mount: angles the screen down when the TV sits higher.
- Full-motion mount: swings out and turns, good for great rooms and corners.
We talk through the options before we drill anything.
Can you mount a TV on a log wall?
Yes, Mounted and More mounts TVs on most log walls using lag bolts and washers driven into solid log. Logs shrink, swell and settle with the seasons, so we plan the spot and the mount around that movement and stay out of gaps and chinking. Log homes are everyday work around Vallecito Lake.
Can you mount a TV on stone or brick?
Yes, we anchor into the face of the stone or brick, never into the mortar joints. Mortar is softer and can loosen over time. Rough river rock or stacked stone can take extra time to find a flat, solid area, which is common in Pine River Valley homes.
Is it safe to mount a TV over a fireplace?
It can be, but heat and viewing height decide it. Wood-burning fireplaces put out the most heat, and a screen mounted high above a mantel can be hard on your neck. We check both before we commit. If the fireplace wall is a poor fit, we will say so and suggest a better spot. A pull-down mount is one option some people use to bring the screen lower.
Can you mount a TV outside?
Only an outdoor-rated TV should go outside. A regular indoor TV is not built for moisture, sun or freezing nights, and mountain winters are hard on electronics. We mount outdoor-rated TVs under covered decks and patios and plan the cable run so nothing sits in the weather. Outdoor jobs start with a free estimate.
What changes the price of TV mounting?
Five things move the price of a TV mounting job:
- TV size
- Wall type: drywall, log, stone or brick
- Mounting over a fireplace
- In-wall wiring or a cable cover
- Distance from Vallecito
A 50-inch TV on drywall is a simpler job than an 85-inch TV over a stone fireplace. For more detail, read our guides to TV mounting cost in La Plata County, mounting a TV over a fireplace and mounting a TV on a log, stone or brick wall. For decks and patios, see outdoor TV installation.
What happens on TV mounting day?
Most installs follow the same steps:
- Tim checks the wall and finds solid backing.
- You and Tim mark the TV height together.
- Tim mounts the TV and checks that it is level.
- He tidies or hides the cables, depending on your package.
- He connects your devices and tests everything.
- He walks you through the remote and apps before he leaves.
Is it worth paying someone to mount a TV?
It is worth it if you want the TV level, secure and tidy without the guesswork. A pro finds solid backing, uses the right anchors for log, stone or brick, and lifts a large screen safely. With Basic or Advanced Mounting, the wires and devices are handled too.
