What standard does this site aim for?
Our goal is for this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. WCAG is the common standard for making websites usable by people with disabilities.
What has been done so far?
- Keyboard navigation. Menus, links, buttons and the quote form work with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
- Skip link. A "Skip to content" link at the top of every page jumps past the menu.
- Color contrast. Text and button colors were chosen for strong contrast against the dark background, aiming for AA contrast levels.
- Reduced motion. If your device is set to reduce motion, animations are turned down.
- Labeled form fields. Every field on the quote form has a visible label, and required fields are marked for screen readers.
- Page structure. Pages use headings, landmarks and breadcrumbs so screen readers can move around quickly.
- Phone option. Anything you can do on this site, you can also do by phone.
Are there known limits?
The site is new and we are still testing it. Some pages may have problems we have not found yet, and pages that link to other websites depend on how those sites are built.
How do I report an accessibility problem?
Call Tim at (970) 426-8215 from 8 AM to 6 PM. Tell him which page you were on and what got in the way. We will work on a fix, and we can help you by phone in the meantime, including taking your quote request.
