What holiday and seasonal work do we do?
We hang holiday lights and seasonal decor, set them on timers and take them down after the season. You can rent a complete lighting package from us, or have us hang lights you already own.
Typical jobs include:
- Rooflines and gutters, using clips made for the job instead of nails or staples
- Trees and shrubs, wrapped or draped
- Railings, decks and porches
- Wreaths, garland and other decor on doors, windows and mantels
- Timers or smart plugs, so the lights come on and off without anyone home
How do holiday light rentals work?
A rental lighting package includes the lights, the installation and the removal after the season. You never buy the lights, and you never store them.
Here is how a rental works:
- Plan the look. We talk through which parts of the house and yard you want lit and send a quote.
- Install. Tim brings the lights, hangs everything and sets the timer.
- During the season. If a strand goes out, give Tim a call.
- Removal. After the season, we come back, take everything down and take the lights with us.
Rentals suit vacation homes and second homes, where the owner may not be around to put lights up or take them down.
Can you hang lights I already own?
Yes. If you have your own lights and decor, we hang them, set the timer and, if you want, come back after the season to take them down and pack them up for you to store.
We test each strand before it goes up. Old strands with cracked wires or broken sockets do not go on the house.
How do you keep holiday lights safe?
We use outdoor-rated lights and cords, clips instead of nails, and existing outdoor outlets. Holiday lighting should never overload a single outlet, and cords should not run through doors or windows where they get pinched.
If you need a new outdoor outlet, that is a job for a licensed electrician. Power cords never run inside walls. Snow and ice can make roofs dangerous, so on steep or icy roofs we may suggest lighting the eaves from a ladder, the railings or the trees instead.
When should I book?
Book early in the fall. The weeks before the holidays fill up quickly, and an early install date avoids working on a snowy roof. We can set the takedown date at the same time.
What does holiday lighting cost?
Holiday lighting and rental packages are quoted with a free estimate. The price depends on how much of the house and yard you want lit, the height of the roofline, and whether you rent our lights or use your own.
