Yes. Mounted and More is based in Vallecito, and Tim Peterson, the owner and installer, lives here. Vallecito is an unincorporated community in La Plata County, about 18 miles northeast of Durango according to the Durango Area Tourism Office, and it is the center of our service area.
That matters in a practical way. A job at a cabin off County Road 501 is a short drive, not a special trip. When something needs a second look, Tim is close by.
What kinds of homes are in Vallecito?
Vallecito homes range from small cabins to large log homes, and many are vacation properties. That mix shapes almost every job we do here.
Log walls
Log walls are solid and strong, but they are not drywall. We mount into solid log, not the gaps between logs, and we plan for the seasonal movement and settling that log homes go through. Read more about wall types on our TV mounting page.
Stone and fireplaces
Many lake homes have stone fireplaces, and the space above them is a common spot for a TV. Sometimes it works well. Heat and viewing angle both matter, and wood-burning fireplaces carry the most risk. On stone, anchors go into the stone face, not the mortar joints. We will tell you plainly whether the spot over your fireplace makes sense.
Hiding cables in a cabin
Low-voltage cables like HDMI and speaker wire can often run inside the wall or in a tidy surface raceway along a log wall. Power cords never run inside walls. If you want a new outlet behind the TV, that is a job for a licensed electrician. See wire hiding for the options.
How do you handle Wi-Fi without cell service?
We start by checking what internet actually works at your address. Many parts of Vallecito have no cell service, so the home network carries everything: streaming, smart devices, and calls over Wi-Fi.
Directory data for the area lists DSL, fixed wireless, T-Mobile Home Internet and satellite, with fiber reaching only a small share of homes. Those are estimates, so we confirm on site. In log and stone homes, a mesh Wi-Fi system usually covers the house better than a single router or extender, because thick walls block the signal.
