Do you serve the Purgatory area?
Yes. Mounted and More serves the Purgatory area north of Durango on US Highway 550, around Purgatory Resort. It is the north end of our Purgatory to Pagosa service area, and Tim Peterson, the owner, does the work himself.
Purgatory is a ski area in the San Juan Mountains. The homes around it range from condos to cabins to larger mountain homes, including second homes and vacation rentals. That shapes much of the work we do here.
What do condos and cabins near Purgatory need?
Mountain condos and cabins need clean installs that guests and owners can both use. In a condo, that often means a TV on the wall, the cables out of sight and a soundbar instead of a room full of speakers.
On wood walls, we mount into solid framing or solid log and allow for seasonal movement. On stone, anchors go into the face of the stone, not the mortar joints. Power cords never run inside walls; new outlets need a licensed electrician. See TV mounting and wire hiding.
For sound, a Sonos soundbar with a sub and rear speakers gives a full sound without a receiver and is easy for guests to use. See Sonos installation and setup.
Can you manage a rental near Purgatory from afar?
Yes. A smart home setup lets you look after a rental from anywhere. From a phone app, you can check entry cameras, turn off lights or plug-in appliances renters left on, change lock codes for each guest and adjust the thermostat between stays.
Cameras go on exteriors and entries only. Follow your rental platform’s camera rules, which ban cameras inside. All of this depends on good internet, so we check what works at your address before recommending equipment. See vacation rental smart home setup.
Why does winterizing matter up here?
Winters near Purgatory are long and snowy, and a second home can sit empty for weeks. Winterizing helps keep pipes from freezing while no one is there.
We shut off the water, drain or blow out the lines, protect hose bibs and set the thermostat. Smart freeze and leak sensors send an alert to your phone if the temperature drops or water shows up. Plumbing repairs go to a licensed plumber. See winterizing.
What other seasonal work do you do here?
Owners near Purgatory often ask for holiday lighting, including rental packages where the rental includes the lights, the install and the removal after the season. In summer, fire mitigation clears brush, needles and firewood away from the house.
How much does it cost?
Mount and Go starts at $150, Basic Mounting at $200 and Advanced Mounting at $325. These are starting prices, not final prices. Sonos, smart home, rental setups and seasonal work get a free estimate. See pricing.
